               T I T A N I U M -

          metal  of the century

TITANIUM (Ti, atomic number 22) belongs to an elite category of elements. The name titanium was derived from the Titans of Greek mythology, known for their extreme and superior strength. It is a silvery white, lustrous, non-ferrous metal (pure titanium is naturally platinum grey). It has the strength of steel and yet a weight comparable to aluminum and is used principally to make lightweight, strong alloys.
Titanium is associated with the aerospace industry, up to 85% of the structural components in the Space Shuttle and aircrafts are made of titanium. But now it's finding increasingly widespread uses due to its many desirable properties.
Titanium’s outstanding strength-to-weight ratio and its incredible resistance to most forms of corrosion have been the primary historical incentives for utilizing titanium in industry, replacing stainless steels, copper alloys and other metals. In its purest form, titanium is about twice as strong as steel and nearly 50% lighter.    Alloyed with   various metals , titanium's hardness, toughness and tensile strength increase dramatically. Titanium is also non-corrosive , can withstand extreme temperatures and pressures.
It's an ideal material for high performance racing car engines parts such as valves, spring retainers and others.
Titanium has been embraced by the medical world for its superior biocompatibility (being absolutely hypoallergenic), and is the preferred material for surgical instruments and implants. Titanium is inert and, therefore completely corrosion resistant. It does not react to salt water, sunlight, or any body or common chemistry.
Such unique properties of titanium, its rareness, silvery-platinum look with outstanding characteristics of optical refractiveness also couldn't have been overlooked by jewelers.

Titanium valves

Titanium is the ideal material for high performance engines. It has approximately twice the strength of steel with one half the weight of steel, and resists very high temperatures.

The valves we produce are made only of certified aircraft grade extra-hard titanium alloys that are up to 800% stronger than basic grade titanium and 130% stronger than widely used 6Al/4V titanium.

Our valves and valve spring retainers are one-piece forgings, not welded, resulting in a superior product.

The forging process creates valves that are stronger than those manufactured by any other metalworking process. During the forging process there is a subtle knitting of the grain flow that aids in the tensile strength and fatigue resistances of the finished valve/ retainer.

(A casting, unlike forging, has neither grain flow nor directional strength. The process cannot prevent formation of certain metallurgical defects, such as inclusions. Forgings are always used where performance and reliability are critical. A multiple-component welded valve assembly is not free of porosity. Selective heating and non-uniform cooling that occur where parts are joined can produce undesirable metallurgical properties such as inconsistent grain structure. In fact, a welded seam can act like a metallurgical notch that leads to premature part failure ).

Manufactured using the latest sophisticated technology titanium valves and retainers are CNC-machined and are designed to significantly reduce overall valvetrain mass and allow higher RMP of your engine.

Thus titanium valves feature elevated mechanical properties and extreme high temperature capability.

To reduce contact  friction  valve's stem can  be  vacuum-deposited   with  titanium  nitride which  gives it  specific golden colouring.

Titanium valves were used for many years exclusively in the most exotic race engines. Now we produce valves for everything from your high performance street cars to full turn-key race cars.

The titanium valves are available in all sizes per your order specifications.

Titanium retainers

Our titanium retainers reduce weight and add strength to a performance of valvetrain assembly. The reduced weight of a titanium retainer allows the valve to move more easily and will require less spring pressure to operate.

The inertia of the valve assembly is reduced by a substantial margin. This makes your motor rev quicker and will produce more power.

Our titanium retainers are made to your exact order specifications.

10-Do you inlay gold, platinum etc.?

11- Describe the difference between polished finish and satin finish.

Q1 : What is the difference between titanium "grades" ?

A : There is many different titanium grades and even "sub-grades"
The most common are the commercially pure (about as hard as 14K gold),
Ti 6Al/4V alloy (90% ti, 6% aluminum, 4% vanadium), used in aerospace,
dentistry and for surgical implants. The other common alloy, Ti 6Al/6V/2Sn contains 2% more vanadium and 2% tin. It has a bit of an increase in tensile strength and hardness, but has a much greater cost. There are more than 20 other grades of titanium. It is also more difficult to find in the right dimensions suitable for making rings.

Q2 :  Can you resize a titanium band up or down like gold ?

A : Titanium can't be stretched like gold, so if your ring does not fit, just return it,
or change  for  your size..

Q3 I have a very sensitive skin. I can't even wear gold jewelry.
Will my skin react the same with titanium ?

A : Titanium, even in its alloyed state, is more inert than other metals.
People allergic to gold won't have problems with a titanium band.

Q4 :  How do you make your rings ?

A : Our rings are machined from a solid bar of titanium.
Then there is quite a lot of hand finishing to turn the ring into a beautiful shiny piece !

Q5 :  Will my aircraft titanium ring remain perfect forever?

A :  When compared to traditional jewelry metals
(gold, silver and platinum), titanium is immensely more durable.
Titanium has a reputation of being stronger than steel. It's not necessarily so.
It's the high strength to weight ratio that is the reason it is used in aerospace applications.
While it is very durable, but like any metal, it can be scratched. The scratches normally will be
only very light superficial ones and can be buffed out easily by most jewelers.

Q6 :  Why are your prices so good compared to other titanium ring makers ? Are they as good in quality?

A : First of all, like it is said  above , we  have the  experience in working with titanium for  about 20  years and it  speaks  for  itself. Titanium  is not a material  to be dealt  with lightly. We’ve been making  parts for space rockets  and  believe us : it’s not an amateur job.

Q7 What other kinds of rings do you offer, or can make ? Can I design my own style?

A : Yes you  can,  but only if you  order a considerably  enough quantity. You are welcome.

Q8 :  What if I don't like my rings when I get them ?

A : Because each ring is custom made for an individual,
you need to be sure about what you want before placing the order.
We do  guarantee against defects in materials and craftsmanship (because it never happens!).

Q9 :  Do you set stones?

A : We could make the  rings ready  for  that. You are  welcome to contact us on the  matter.

Q10 :  Do you inlay gold, platinum etc.?

A : Sorry, but not as of yet. If you have time, stay tuned. We are still experimenting!

Q11 :  Describe the difference between polished finish and satin finish

A : The polished finish is like chrome or a mirror, very bright and reflective.
The polish finish is a very high quality level too; absolutely mirror polished!
Satin is shiny, but less reflective. It is like it has been brushed and has a very even silky texture.
